And speaking of large fiberglass cows…
Just down the street from the Pink Elephant in Glasses is another large fiberglass animal: Sissy the Cow. Sissy is a two-ton bovine that stands at 19 feet by 20 feet outside of Ehlenbach’s Cheese Chalet in DeForest, Wisconsin. While she does have the remains of a speaker in her gullet, alas she no longer can make any sounds. I guess it’s a good thing though, because who could imagine how large of a “moo” this one would belt out.

Bessie the Cow
Speaking of large fiberglass animals…
On my road trip to Mount Rushmore back in August, the first stop of the trip was to see Bessie — a 16-foot-tall, 20-foot-long, one-ton fiberglass cow. She originally watched guard in the 1960s outside of the Oasis Restaurant, Motel and Cheese Shop. In 2006 the Oasis was closed and demolished, leaving the poor bovine homeless. Luckily the public spoke and Bessie was moved to her new spot, outside of a Del Taco where she proudly greets visitors who pass.

A giant pink elephant (with better vision than the one in DeForest, WI) stands outside an antique store in Livingston, Illinois.
