World’s Largest Six-Pack of Beer in La Crosse, Wisconsin

I’m a lightweight when it comes to drinking. It doesn’t take much to get me drunk (for example, see me getting Hyderized in Hyder). One beer and I’m tipsy. But I have a few friends who can drink a lot of beer. And by a lot of beer I mean a lot of beer. But even they probably couldn’t drink all the alcohol that is contained in this roadside attraction: The World’s Largest Six-Pack of Beer in La Crosse, Wisconsin!

What is extra special about these giant beer cans is that they not only look like real (albeit oversized) cans of beer, they actually contain real beer! These dressed up storage tanks for City Brewing Company in La Crosse, Wisconsin hold a whopping 688,200 barrels of beer — that’s enough to fill 7,340,796 cans. That is a LOT of beer!

Constructed in 1969, the LaCrosse six pack originally advertised Heileman’s “Old Style Lager.” In 2000, however, the Heileman brewery closed leaving the fast-aging beer cans in a state of disarray. Luckily, the plant was later bought out and is again making beer…complete with a fresh new look for this giant six pack of beer!

If one normal can gets me drunk, I can’t imagine how I’d feel after chugging one of these world’s largest beer cans! Of course, I was driving on this road trip through Wisconsin (on our way to Mount Rushmore), so I couldn’t have chugged a giant can even if I wanted to (please NEVER drink and drive!).

But, if you’re not driving, all you’d need is to find the world’s largest pretzel and the world’s largest frosty mug and you’d have it made!

Of course…if I drank that much I might wake up with the world’s largest hangover the next day… But it would be worth it. Am I right?
