I first heard Cake’s Stickshifts and Safetybelts in my friend’s car as we were driving from Chicago to West Virginia on a camping/white water rafting trip. It was part of his own personal CD (this was before mp3 players were popular) of “songs about driving.” And It’s way too catchy.

Bonus attraction: the New River Gorge Bridge in Fayetteville, West Virginia, which, at the time, was the world’s longest steel single-span arch bridge.
