Creepy bugs? Check. Weird birds of species you’ve probably never heard of before? Check. Giant fake crocodile? Check. Fake woodland landscape? Check. Snakes and turtles preserved in jars? Check.

The small Bengal Natural History Museum in Darjeeling, India features an array of stuffed wildlife indigenous to the area. Though the collection may seem a bit dusty and dated, with an admission price of 10 rupees (about 20 cents American), it’s definitely a fun (and silly) diversion for a rainy day in the mountains.

City Museum After Dark

Usually with museums I like to get there early. With the City Museum, it was best to get there LATE. We didn’t even arrive until 9pm, far past when most museums close their doors. But on Friday and Saturday nights, starting at 10pm, they drop the lights so you can explore the whole museum in the dark! This flashlight-lit experience is totally cool! And…you can take some awesome photos of you and your friends!
